Since 1939, we have ministered to the people of Houston. Located in the West University/Bellaire area, we are a diverse, inclusive community seeking to transform lives. We hope you will visit one of our services to experience the mission of St. Mark’s.
For seventy-five years St. Mark’s has been a source of Worship, Welcome, Outreach and Formation for all of God’s people in response to our baptisms and our belief that we are to be a light to the world. We collaborate with our Bishop, our diocese, other Episcopal churches, and many service organizations to accomplish this mission. We seek to serve our city, our state, and our world. We are a church full of past accomplishment and future potential.
We are a people comfortable with being Episcopalian and restless to explore ideas, worship styles, and Gospel ingenuity. We believe the Gospel to be active, not static, and so we respond accordingly by always striving to balance a rich heritage with new initiative.
There are many ways to become involved and to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus—from simply committing to pray for the church and the world to leading large events that raise awareness of community needs and raise resources necessary to accomplish our goals.
If you are looking for a church, we invite you to join this one by worshiping with us on Sunday, contacting a member of the clergy or staff, or by quietly praying in our sanctuary or chapel. However God is calling you we hope to be a part of your journey as a Christian.
