The Rev. Samantha Gottlich grew up in Corpus Christi, TX and then moved to Waco, TX for college where she received her B.S. at Baylor University in Exercise Physiology. She then moved to Austin to pursue graduate work at the University of Texas, where she received an M.S. in Kinesiology. She coached tennis at St. Stephen’s Tennis Academy in Austin, taught at UT, and worked as the Staff Director at Camp Capers, the diocesan summer camp for the Diocese of West Texas, until she left for seminary. In 2017 she received her M.Div. from Virginia Theological Seminary.
Sam joins the St. Mark’s staff as the Curate and is excited about sharing in the life of the St. Mark’s community.
She has also co-authored two books: An Episcopal Manual and Lectionary Levity: How to Use Humor in Preaching.
