The 2017 Kid Min Mission Trip took place June 4-7 in partnership with C.U.S.E. Houston.
C.U.S.E. provides opportunities to serve persons who are being denied justice, peace and dignity by their community. Its location in the center of downtown Houston provides the perfect home base for groups of youth wishing to experience the unique challenges and blessings of inner city service. Cathedral Urban Service Experience, a ministry of Christ Church Cathedral in Houston, Texas, offers a unique opportunity for youth to grow spiritually as they serve others and live in Christian community. In its most recent year, more than 200 C.U.S.E. volunteers worked at eleven different sites providing 5,400 hours of service.
Students will participate and partner with C.U.S.E. for their mission work this summer. This mission trip, like many before it, will be filled with fun, laughter, hard work, learning, prayer, and growing – all in our own backyard! This mission trip will be filled with lots of different experiences and sights not seen in our everyday Houston lives. We will stay overnight for the duration of the trip in the Christ Church Cathedral Youth Center (a.k.a. – The Treehouse), where we will sleep on twin inflatable mattresses, which will be provided for us. We will have three meals a day, and will travel to work sites on the Houston Metro Rail Line, a bus, or a van. In addition to Lynette Huron, our Children’s Minister from St. Mark’s, we will have two college -age interns who will be our guides to service and fun throughout the week. Please consider joining us for this amazing experience! Once registered, you will receive a separate email with further information like a packing list, release forms, payment information and more.
If you are interested in making a donation toward the cost of a student’s trip or have questions of any kind, contact Lynette Huron, Trip Leader.
