The Rev. Samantha Smith received her BS from Baylor University in Exercise Physiology and her MS from The University of Texas in Kinesiology. She received her MDiv from Virginia Theological Seminary in 2017.
In July 2017, Sam was placed at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church as the Curate. Prior to her call to ordained ministry, she worked as a tennis coach at St. Stephen’s Episcopal School in Austin, taught at the University of Texas, and served as the Staff Director at Camp Capers, the diocesan camp for the Episcopal Diocese of West Texas.
Along with her duties at St. Mark’s, she is a founding member of Missional Voices, an organization that seeks to connect, encourage, and highlight missional communities and innovative ministries across the Episcopal Church and beyond.
She is co-author of Faith Rules, An Episcopal Manual, and Lectionary Levity: The Use of Humor in Preaching.
