If you would like to learn more about St. Mark’s in particular, and the Episcopal Church in general, we offer Newcomer’s Classes twice a year. This weekend class offers an overview, some historic background of the church, liturgy, Scripture and the Book of Common Prayer. It also includes information about how to get more involved at St. Mark’s. It serves as the preparation for adult Confirmation which is usually held each Spring. Class begins with a light snack at 6 p.m. and ends with the service of Compline at 9 p.m. Saturday’s class begins at 8:00 a.m. with a simple breakfast, and ends at 11:00 am. A Newcomer Dinner is typically held in the weeks following the class. For Fall 2017, the class dates are Nov. 3rd and 4th, and the dinner date is Nov. 14. Check back for Spring 2018 dates. Please contact The Rev. Samantha Smith for more information.
Twice a year, The Rev. Patrick Miller and his wife Allison, host a dinner in their home to welcome and get to know new members of our parish. The Newcomer Dinner also provides an opportunity for new members and visitors to meet current members and learn ways to become involved in life at St. Mark’s. Please contact The Rev. Samantha Smith for more information about this and Newcomers Classes.
